 We perform as a group of tricksters; characters amalgamated from different historical mythological creatures. Gathering in a conference room, we are here to try and build a trickster nation. How, you might ask, can a group of shape-shifting, a-moral, individuals always on the outside of the collective, trouble-making truth seers, sacred liars unify under a sovereign nation? This remains to be seen. In this residency, we focus on the creation of a national trickster rhythm. Borrowing from a bag of stolen rhythms (mostly diasporic Jewish rhythms presumably stolen from myself) or stolen footage from movies about powerful nations, we will search for the most trickster elements of each rhythm in order to build a new hyper-pure-trickster rhythm.
